From the Public School: In the wake of the financial crises and social struggles of the past years, the work of Karl Marx continues to provide a valuable tool of analysis for thinkers and activists.
In the hopes of making Marx's thought available to the widest possible audience, the Public School is pleased to announce a six-part lecture series of volume one of Marx's CAPITAL.
Six scholars and activists will present on part of Marx's work. For those who want to read or reread CAPITAL, this series will provide an occasion to do so in very good company ; for those who'd like to learn by listening and talking, we'll be doing plenty of that too.
This series will take place at 2355 Broadway (at 24th Street), in Oakland, CA -- right across from the downtown YMCA.
The first evening is Saturday, November 10, at 7pm.
Jill Richards will present on Part I of CAPITAL -- so break out your copy if you'd like to read it in advance.
The complete schedule of presentations is :

Sat Nov 24 : Part II: Chris Chen
Sat Dec 8 :Part III : Tim Kreiner
